I made a negative comment about a resident to the treasurer, that I didn't want to go to anymore meeting because of the past experience of a resident arguing for well over 15 minutes at a meeting. She told me he was on the architectural board and I told her, that's great now I am going to be retaliated against but she said they don't do that. I am being retaliated against by them, by not acknowledging my request for yard work. I have done other request and received notice within 2 weeks, this time it is going on 3 weeks and nothing. The bylaws give a 30 reply or no reply means it has been approved. Is there anything I can do legally? Should I notify the board President of my concern or let it go?

  2. Why on earth do people join such mafias. We have community group. Everything is done for the benefit of the community. No laws or by laws. We believe thats what the courts are there for. Wow i love yous americans but hey really would not want to live there.

  3. FIRE THE HOA…. YOU SIGNED A DOCUMENT FOR HOA SERVICE. SEND A LEGAL DOCUMENT. STATING YOU NO LONGER WANT THEIR SERVICE. BECAUSE THE DID NOT PROVIDE THE SERVICE OR DID THE CONTRACT COMPANY . THEY ARE SCAMMING THE PEOPLE. MAKING MONEY OFF THE PEOPLE. SO GOVERNMENT INVESTIGATORS SHOULD CHECH TO SEE WHERE THE MONEY IS GOING. TALK ABOUT MONEY LAUNDERING WHAT A WAY TO HIDE IT.

  4. If the developer wants to be an a**** and control your neighborhood without giving you any say, I would make life miserable for that developer. As long as they were doing construction I would be a thorn in their side complaining about every nail driven in every piece of trash that blows away from the job site. Normally I hate people that do that kind of thing but if that's your only leverage against a tyrant, then that's what you use.

  5. Developers control the HOA until the last lot is sold. Then, and ONLY then, is the power give to the homeowners. The developers don't give a shit. I was in the land surveying business for 42 years and never worked with a developer who cared about anything but profit.

  7. HOA's should pay the private security, maintain and clean public areas, nothing else.

    No asswipe has the right to tell you:

    When, how and with whom to cut your grass,

    What handyman to use.

    When and what color to paint your house.

    When, how many and what kind of guesses you can have.
    What kind of decoration, specially seasonal.
    What the fuck can you do behind your 8 feet wall, specially in your backyard.
    And over all, what type if allowed to modify the property itself.

  9. I agree with everything about HOA just not being good at all but I think these people are over reacting about the park situation. I mean, kids can get hurt in any park, no matter how clean or dirty. But yes, if you’re paying hoa to clean and fix these issues, then they should be doing it. Period.

  12. If you buy a house in an HOA you have NOTHING to cry about. HOAs have a Loooonnnngggg history of Screwing people over. You bought into to problem Suffer the Consequences. I hope you lose everything.

  13. I absolutely abhor HOA's. When I sold my last home, I intentionally sought out a home to purchase that is NOT in an HOA. They take your money and treat you like your less than dirt. Fine you every time you turn around and you have to ask for permission for everything you want to do on your lot. I got out of there as quickly as I could. Never again! They're uncontrolled and go un-checked in this state and do nothing but harass a person. I refuse to live like that and worse, to pay extra to be treated like dirt! Buyer's beware! You have very little recourse when you want to stand up for yourself and your family. Unless of course you have plenty of money to throw around at attorney that will help you get nowhere really fast! Buyer's beware!

    HOA'S are bullshit and should be outlawed, they are corrupt and not American, they are a socialist dictatorship filled with selfish corruption telling you what to do, when to do it, how to do it, what you can and cannot do according to what they perceive, as a tranquil living area.

  15. So in other words developers feel that since they built houses they deserve to tell the people who now own them to go fuck themselves? Homeowners associations need to be made illegal. No group of people has any right to tell me what I am and I'm not allowed to do on my own property as long as it's legal.

  16. The community that i rented previously had 2 HOAs that the owner had to pay. It was a nice neighborhood, however, too many rules. The whole community itself had a set of rules, and the sub-community had it’s own. Wow.

  17. Don’t ‘ever’ buy a home where there’s an HOA. Those HOA folks are dickheads and assholes who miss their days of being hall monitors in elementary school. They’re just power hungry douchebags.
